Both Anne and Sam congregated at the Hotel Max with out of town guests and family for getting ready and knocking back a few celebratory beverages.

I still get a kick out of seeing a Universal Life Church certificate and LOVED the officiant’s all white tuxedo.

This wedding had a few unique tricks up its sleeve with no bridal party, a bridesmaids dress in lieu of a bridal gown and a bouquet made of wire and beads.

The Moms

There have been plenty of receptions at EMP, but Anne and Sam’s wedding was the first to actually have the ceremony there too.  What a venue!  The light show was killer!

By this point in the evening the DJ busted out L.A. Woman by the Doors for a tradition from Anne’s family… The Shoe Dance. Everyone threw their shoes atop a pile in the middle of the room and the dancing really headed up climaxing in sync with the peak of the song and 30 foot flames on the digital backdrop. Awesome!

Thanks to Laurence Kim for bringing me along to shoot as wingman. Check out his post from the wedding here.
