One of my new years resolutions goals for 2009 was to volunteer my time, my energy and my services more often to a broader base of people and causes.  Tonight I had the honor of being able to provide event photography services for the 17th annual 2009 Chef’s Dinner benefiting the Bailey-Boushay House at the Bell Harbor International Conference Center.

For those not from the Seattle area, the Bailey-Boushay House is a nationally recognized facility in Seattle offering residential care and adult day health programs for people living with AIDS as well as other life-threatening illnesses and owns the distinction of being America’s first skilled nursing facility that was planned, funded, built and staffed to meet the needs of people living with AIDS.

In its 17th year, the annual Chef’s Dinner is a tour-de-force of local culinary causes du célèbre with this years roster featuring:  Chef Eric Banh from Baguette Box and Monsoon, Chef Holly Smith from Cafe Juanita, Chef Joseba Jimenez de Jimenez from The Harvest Vine and Txori, Chef Jason Bray from Ivar’s, Chef Jim Drohman from Le Pichet and Cafe Presse, Chef Brock Johnson from Lola, Chef Rich Coffey of Madison Park Cafe, Chef Adam Federoff from Rosebud Restaurant & Bar, Chef Peter Birk from Ray’s Boathouse, Chef Walter Pisana of Tulio, Chef Craig Hetherington from Taste Restaurant, Chef Erin Powell of Yarrow Bay Grill with the Bailey-Boushay House’s very own Chef Danial Molina and Bell Harbor International Conference Center’s host Chef Jay Bartleson.

It was a beautifully clear day with a fantastic Puget Sound view providing the backdrop for an incredible evening of fantastic food, volunteers, fund raising and rubbing elbows with some of my local culinary heroes.  Nada mal.
