So if you’ve poked around the blog at all you may have discovered that I credit the birth of my daughter as the catalyst for my interest in photography. My clicking away frame after frame of her is what eventually led to me taking on jobs for family friends and others. Of course these days it’s all about confident senior grads and couples madly in love.
Besides the complex challenges of weddings, no other thing has developed my photographic abilities than a project I began at the beginning of 2008. Inspired by so many of my contacts on Flickr, I too set out to complete a 365, or photo per day. Some people do self-portraits while others just capture random things that pique their interest. I chose to document Ella.
It turned out to be more work than I ever anticipated, yet so amazingly rewarding. It was rewarding even with all the files sitting on my hard drive for the past 3 months since my year of shooting wrapped, but I can’t even begin to express the sense of accomplishment and reward I feel after getting the book. And what a year to take this on… I had to choose a frickin’ leap year!
So here it is… A 369 page hard-bound image-wrapped book of my baby. Sadly I have maybe only taken about 5 pictures of her in all of 2009. Sigh.
