Cannon Beach Wedding Photography
Day turned into night as two individuals became one couple on their wedding day in Cannon Beach, Oregon. This image was created at the end of their wedding night, just before we headed to the fire pit after-party that the Surfsand Resort had prepared.
As we stepped outside onto an elevated deck over a car park, I saw the lighting sconces of the hotel’s outdoor hallways and I knew that using my 70-200mm lens would compress that background into a warm, romantic pattern of light, ideal for creating a dramatic final spread in their wedding album showcasing all of the gorgeous Cannon Beach wedding photography I could possibly produce.
I quickly grabbed a strobe on a stand, asked the couple to rock a simple hug and magic was instantly made. The shot and the mood both hint at the sparks the couple share and the majestic beauty of their wedding day.
Earlier in the day, the wedding was held on beautiful Cannon Beach under a trellis with the famous Haystack Rock visible in the background. While high winds on the beach prevented the unity candle from lighting (again and again and again), abundant laughs were the order of the day.
Surfsand Resort on Cannon Beach coordinated both the wedding and reception, and the resort was home to sweeping coastline views to both the north and south and a serene and playful atmosphere. Vistas included the majestic Pacific Ocean, world-famous Haystack Rock, Tillamook Lighthouse and spectacular sunsets.
Memories include lights, camera, action as well as candles, wind and romance. The celebration continued into the night, into the fire and into the future - And we danced to Gangnam Style not once, not twice, but THREE TIMES!Location: 148 W Gower Ave, Cannon Beach, OR 97110.
