Courtney + AllenCamano Island EngagementCamano Island, WA

I live in the Pacific Northwest. My job is to photograph weddings, engagements and portraits here. Due to the unrelenting rain and short sunny season, I often find myself in the uncomfortable situation of rescheduling shoots in deference of a sunny day that HAS to be looming on near future’s horizon. Hope sells… Ask Obama.

Enter: Courtenay and Allen. Our goal for this engagement session was to capture them in their element and nothing more. They are outdoor people. They are in love. There is a family cabin on Camano Island that is part of the fabric that defines them as a couple. Sometimes it rains. A lot of times it rains. We chose to embrace it.

Here is what a day with two lovebirds looks like during a typical rainy, spring day in the Pacific Northwest. We hit the Stanwood Cafe, some choice beaches on Camano Island and the family cabin. Clam shells, moss, rain-soaked wetness, North Face and Marmot anoraks, and a couple in love. It’s all here: Check out their Pacific Northwet, rainy Camano Island engagement session.

You made it to the bottom of the post – Good for you! Please feel free to click the ‘Like’ button and add a few words about these two lovebirds so that the rest of the Face-world can feast their eyes on the fun.

A huge shout-out to the frighteningly talented Mr. Ben Blood. Without you sir, I would not know these two great folks nor would I be in the esteemed position to be photographing their wedding in Pendleton, Oregon. Thank you Ben.

And a debt of great thanks to the equally as talented Mr. Jeramie Shoda. Without his willingness to spend a rainy Sunday morning curled up with his girl and mine in his PJ’s and slippers, I would have had a serious logistical situation to contend with other than rain. Ella loved her time with you guys – Thank you so much.

Also, your comments matter – Courtney and Allen need 30 original comments to win a free 11×14 print of their choice from this session. Help ’em out if you’re feeling it.

Jenny + JuanUniversity of Washington EngagementSeattle, WA

Jenny + Juan and I rendezvous’d at the Quad on the lovely grounds of the University of Washington. It was an early spring day and we were hoping for cherry blossoms, but had to settle for some fun together instead. No worries.

We had a great time exploring the campus before heading over to my neighborhood of Ballard and ultimately ending at Golden Gardens along the lovely Puget Sound. They are a fun and lovely couple and I am licking my chops at the prospect of getting to photograph their wedding. Thank you for the fun times guys!

All these images were made on my Contax 645 medium format film camera with Kodak Portra 400, Kodak BW400cn in the Nikon F100 or Fuji fp-3000b instant film and were processed in Lehi, UT by the FIND Laboratory. Enjoy and happy Friday!

Kyle + SebaSantiago Engagement PhotographySantiago, Chile

So, the last time I checked in with you guys I had some Valparaiso engagement photography to show you. This time we’re with the fabulous Santiago Wedding Photographers Kyle Hepp and her husband Seba for a little Just Because session.

We met in a neighborhood called Barrio Yungay and made some frames around the neighborhood. We even got into an amazing restaurant that Kyle had had her eye on shooting in for awhile called Peluqueria Francesa that just oozed old South American charm. She headed back there a few weeks later with some of her clients and got a completely different look… Check out what they did here.

Kyle got talented Santiago hair stylist and make-up artist Rodrigo Farah to put some extra polish on her look. How much do I love a smokey eye?  Meow.

Brittany + HugoValparaiso Engagement PhotographyValparaiso, Chile

You may remember me as the guy that shot some Viña del Mar Fashion Photography.  Well this time around I’m in Valparaiso, Chile to shoot photographer Brittany Davis and her beau Hugo.  We took a funicular, also known as an ascensor.  We ascended.

Brittney + KennyPort Gamble Engagement PhotographyPort Gamble, WA

Yesterday I had the pleasure of heading out to the Olympic Peninsula with Kristen Tourtillotte on the most amazing, bluebird winter/spring day for an engagement session with her clients Brittney and Kenny.  The ferry ride was nothing short of beautiful and we immediately traveled to the quaint historic town of Port Gamble.

For the most part I watched Kristen work her magic, but did manage to get a few frames worth showing.  You are going to DIE when you see the frames she made of Brittney in a friends perfectly restored Bel Air.  Thank you so much for letting me tag along.
